1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Rental Added in Florida

Rent Sports Cars has added the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Kissimmee, Florida, and gives Florida productions a period-correct sports car that already carries experience from multiple media shoots. Crews working in central Florida can reach it without long travel, and the car fits projects that need a distinctive 1980s silhouette in the frame.

Spotlight on this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

The listing shows a silver coupe with black leather interior and a five-speed manual transmission. The car is described as fully restored and award-winning, with two doors and a gasoline engine. Its stainless-steel body and gull-wing profile stand out in both motion and still photography, and the black interior keeps the cabin simple for camera placement or talent interaction.

Producers can use the car for scenes that call for a futuristic or exotic look from the early 1980s. The vehicle has already worked on various shoots across media types, so location managers and prop masters know it can handle set movement and repeated takes. Its compact size also helps when space is tight on smaller stages or when the production needs the car to appear in background traffic without dominating the shot.

Rent Sports Cars and the Florida Picture Car Market

Rent Sports Cars lists vehicles for film, television, and commercial work in Florida. The company connects with the USA Movie Cars network so that productions searching for a Florida picture car rental or a Florida film car can locate local options quickly. Kissimmee sits in the center of the state, which reduces drive time for crews filming in Orlando, Tampa, or nearby coastal areas.

USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as Florida Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles. This network approach lets location managers check availability across multiple regions instead of starting a new search in each market. Rent Sports Cars contributes to that system by adding vehicles like the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 that already carry production experience.

History of the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

The DeLorean DMC-12 entered production at the start of the 1980s as a two-door sports coupe with a stainless-steel exterior and rear-mounted engine. Its angular lines and gull-wing doors gave it a look that stood apart from other cars of the era. The model quickly became associated with the decade’s interest in advanced styling and performance vehicles.

By the mid-1980s the car had appeared in popular culture, which added to its recognition value on sets. The 1981 model year places it squarely in the period that many productions recreate when they need 1980s street scenes, corporate backdrops, or character vehicles. Its manual transmission and two-door layout match the mechanical details crews often look for when matching era vehicles.

Florida Picture Car Rental Uses

The DeLorean works for establishing shots that place a scene in the 1980s or for character vehicles that signal a specific personality or background. Its silver finish reflects light in a way that can help or hinder depending on the lighting plan, so directors of photography can plan around it. Background texture is another use; the car can sit in a parking lot or driveway without requiring dialogue or close-ups.

Commercial and music-video shoots can employ the car for product tie-ins or visual contrast against modern surroundings. Still photography benefits from the car’s reflective body and clean interior lines. Event planners and branded-content teams have also used similar vehicles for stage displays or photo opportunities where the 1980s sports-car shape adds interest without needing to run or drive the vehicle.
