1967 Volvo 1800S Rental Added in New Mexico
Rent Sports Cars has added a 1967 Volvo 1800S to its picture car options through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Santa Fe, New Mexico, giving local and visiting productions a period-correct coupe for shoots across the state. Producers working on film, television, or commercial projects can now reach this car directly when they need a 1960s European sports car that looks right on camera without requiring extensive prep work.
Spotlight on this 1967 Volvo 1800S
The car is a two-door coupe finished in green with a brown interior. Its body lines remain original except for the current exterior paint, and the dashboard instruments function except for the clock and vintage radio. All systems operate reliably enough for driving scenes, with new brakes, a new clutch, and a refurbished transmission keeping it road-ready.
Crews filming in New Mexico can use the car for moving shots or static placements because it starts and drives without special support. The manual transmission and gasoline engine match the era, so sound and motion feel authentic when the camera rolls. Location managers in Santa Fe, New Mexico, often need vehicles that can arrive at remote sites without trailers, and this Volvo fits that practical need.
Rent Sports Cars and the New Mexico Picture Car Market
Rent Sports Cars focuses on sports and performance vehicles for productions, and the addition of this 1967 Volvo 1800S expands options for crews who need a vintage European look. Santa Fe, New Mexico, serves as a hub for many shoots that require both desert and mountain backdrops, so having local vehicles reduces transport time and cost.
USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as New Mexico Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles. This network approach lets producers search regionally first before widening the net, which keeps more rentals inside New Mexico when schedules are tight. Rent Sports Cars participates in that same system so that sports car needs and period car needs can both be met from one point of contact.
History of the 1967 Volvo 1800S
The Volvo 1800S coupe was built during the 1960s as a stylish grand tourer with clean lines and a sporting character. Its compact size and distinctive roofline made it recognizable in its day, and the model line carried forward a reputation for durability that still holds today. The 1967 model year sits squarely in the middle of that production run, giving it the right visual cues for stories set in the late 1960s.
The car’s simple mechanical layout and two-door body style made it popular with drivers who wanted something different from American muscle cars of the same period. Its presence on screen often signals a European or international flavor without needing additional set dressing. Productions looking for background texture in street scenes or establishing shots can rely on the 1800S to read correctly for that decade.
New Mexico Picture Car Rental Uses
This Volvo works well in period scenes set in the 1960s, whether the story takes place in the United States or abroad. Its green paint and brown interior provide a neutral yet distinctive color palette that photographs cleanly against New Mexico landscapes. Producers can place it as a character vehicle for a supporting role or use it in the background to add depth to a street or parking lot.
Commercial shoots and still photography benefit from the car’s compact footprint and classic proportions. Music videos and branded content can park it in frame for quick cutaways or use it for driving sequences on two-lane roads outside Santa Fe, New Mexico. Event planners also book similar vintage cars for photo opportunities or themed gatherings where the 1960s aesthetic matters.
